Charlize Theron And Kerry Washington Join The School For Good And Evil

by James White | Last May, we learned that Paul Feig had locked in his next film , taking on the adaptation of Soman Chainani's fairytale novel The School For Good And Evil. He's adding two more cast members, with Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington aboard. Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie are portraying the main characters, Sophia and Agatha, best friends who are whisked off to the titular school, where ordinary kids are trained to be fairy tale heroes and villains. Sophie has princess aspirations and expects to be picked for the School for Good and Agatha seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil. Yet soon the girls find their fortunes reversed, putting their friendship to a test...

"Boyhood." Richard Linklater cast his daughter Lorelei Linklater as Samantha because she was always singing and dancing around the house and wanted to be in his movies. At about the third or fourth year of filming, she lost interest and asked for her character to be killed off. Linklater refused, saying it was too violent for what he was planning (Lorelei eventually regained her enthusiasm and continued with the project).

Washington will be Professor Dovey, the Dean of Good, while Theron is Lady Lasso, Dean of Evil. David Magee and Laura Solon wrote the adaptation, and Feig is busy shooting the movie in Northern Ireland. Netflix will release it in 2022.
